Leonard Cohen once went to check out Bob Dylan play and when
Bob spotted him at the aftershow, he exclaimed, "right who wants to
meet a real poet?" One can safely assume Bob is not one to use the
word poet lightly. Leonard Cohen is like a fine red wine, incredibly
improved with age, and like jazz, cigars, nice aftershave, and a
comfy seat, only really important to those of a certain age. Anyone
who had the chance to see Leonard play in London this year will have
seen a true poet at work who simply cannot be beaten for shear
emotional impact. A Man of 75 who can hold Glastonbury in the palm
if his hand, is something of a one off, so this week we raise a
glass of something posh to Leonard, all blessings Leonard.

CLUB NME NYE BALL
Since
1904 in Times Square New York, it's been all about a sliver
ball and ticker tape, Sydney Harbour, it's vests and
fireworks, in Zermatt Switzerland the locals gather round a
church at the foot of the Matterhorn. At KOKO we're gonna
party into the new year with Reverend and the Makers and Pete
and The Pirates live, plus full supporting DJ cast.
It's a ball, so dressing up right fancy is positively
encouraged, and if you can't manage that, fancy dress will
also suffice. It's going to be like the last days of Rome but

tones. One day the concept might make is as a subject for O-level,
