OK pending any more Icons of music dying, we return this week to Turns You Can Trust.
Hang on we just got the sad news of the passing of drummer and percussionist extraordinaire Steve Reid. This was a guy who had names like Miles Davis, Martha Reeves (Dancing In The Street) and more recently Four Tet's Kieran Hebden on his C.V. His show with Kieran Hebden in 2007 remains one of the single best musical performances we've ever witnessed at KOKO. You literally did not know what was gonna happen next.
So yesterday we bore sombre witness to Malcolm McLaren's funeral cortège pass in front or our humble abode and make it's way up Camden High Street complete with a green 'Anarchy Bus' in tow, today our thoughts turn to the musical legacy Steve Reid leaves behind. We recommend the album 'Tongues' he released with Four Tet in 2007, it contains 'Brain' this week's Watch This below...
