When presented with a week of musical treats it's best to feast on them like a starved dog, the ear feeding started, Tuesday night, when the cunning French man, Anthony Gonzalez unleashed a set that had the controls set for the heart of the lushness, and then proceeded to exceed all of our ambient dreams, some less intelligent beings have described his sound as shoegaze, which is like calling Kratfwerk synth pop. Wednesday saw the more than welcome return of Reverend And The Makers, coming on like the best bits of Happy Mondays but with a message for the youth, Jon McClure is a man on a mission and well worth following, just ask Carl Barat who was seen having it in the mosh pit or just the lucky 500 that stepped outside after the gig to see Mr Rev play an acoustic set in the street. Then, Thursday night Soil and Pimp Sessions have the cheek to pitch up and play the kind of set that has you rethinking music all together, half way through it dawns on most of the crowd that they witnessing the best drummer, the best sax player, the best pianist and the best trumpet player playing any where in the world right now, a powerful death jazz moment that you want to last for ever.
Friday and it's local Camden band Ou Est Le Swimming Pool, who rock their faithless fanatical following to the core with the kind of electro poptastic tunes that the Pet Shop Boys would eat a live child live on T.V. for. Come Saturday night and we just couldn't resist swinging by a filthy old boozer on the Harrow Road to catch a set by Norman Jay just to get us in the mood for a possible visit to Good Times at Carnival....
Ted loving London, loving music, loving you, ahh haaaah. |

Support comes from Bleech who you will be hearing lots of over the coming months.

"There's no point in having posters of Joe Strummer and Bob Marley on yer wall, if you're not gonna get involved" Just one of the many great things that came from the mouth of Jon McClure during one of our favourite nights at KOKO ever.
