NME have this week published a list of 50 acts / events that they are calling The Future 50. Now with all good lists of pop stuff you can't help but check to see if you agree with the placings. For instance how someone can discuss the future of music without even mentioning Of Montreal is beyond belief. This rush of blood to the head goes back to being a youngun and sitting in front of Top Of The Pops, once a week whilst they count down the top twenty, so you can go, "hate it, hate it, love that, hate it, hate it, love that, hate it", or words to that effect.
Now with this pleasure long gone, (do people even buy records anymore?) you are left with lists like the Future 50, perfectly designed to get a reaction from you. So here goes, how the hell can they put Blackout Crew above the mighty Invasion? Or Norwich above Nick Zinner?
Calm down dear, it's just a list..
