While the VIMA 2010 is getting all warmed up, KokoAsia, which has a great reputation in social music network in United Kingdom, has announced that they will be joining VOIZE in rocking the local music scene.
Through this exposure, the aim is to bring together people who share the same passion for music and making changes. “And hopefully in 10 years time, KokoAsia will be able to make its mark on the music map around the world,” says KokoAsia CEO John Thubron.
Up till today, KokoAsia has been receiving a steady increase of hits on its official website especially those from Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. The purpose of the website is to get people to talk about bands and music.
Speaking about local favourite, CEO of KokoAsia John Thubron is in favour of “Deserters,” whose music element is more to brit-rock. But in order to be successful both locally and internationally, the band needs more support. “Their style and lyrics is just great,” quips John.
“KOKO is a big,,big name from UK and its fantastic what they have been doing over the years to support the international and independent music scene. We certainly see our relationship with KokoAsia moving on to the next level and the possibility of “swapping” indie acts between UK, Malaysia and the rest of Asia”, said Siva Chandran, Managing Editor of Voize.my and founder of VIMA.
