Malaysia’s Bet at The GBOB Challenge 2009 World Final in London to be Crowned on November 14!

After four weeks of grueling elimination heats in Klang Valley, the world’s biggest live music challenge will have its grand finale at Titanium Super Dance Club on November 14 to crown one band as Malaysia’s best and the country’s bet at The GBOB Challenge 2009 (The Global Battle of the Bands) World Final in London on December 13.
Twelve outstanding bands from Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru have advanced to the National Final of The GBOB Challenge Malaysia 2009 proudly brought to you by ELEVATE. The 12 finalists are Kyoto Protocol (Alternative), Tashya’s Ink (Acoustic Pop Rock), The Federated (Funky Punk, Rock ‘n’ Roll), Benchmarx (Pop Rock), Pure Vibracion (Reggae), Coda (Pop Rock), Revenge (‘80s Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal), Forty Winks (Punk Ska), Car Crash Hearts (Power Pop), Hyper Act (Rock), Arabella (Modern Rock/ Funky) and Khalfah (Rock).
The winning band will go home with the value of RM50,000 in combined cash and prizes in kind and compete amongst over 30 bands from over 30 countries in a musical festival of live original music to be held at the London Scala, London’s alternative live music club and arts venue on King’s Cross.
The Malaysian National Champion of ELEVATE’s The GBOB Challenge Malaysia 2009 will share the same stage where the likes of Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Moby, Super Furry Animals, Chemical Brothers, Kruder & Dorfmeister The Doves, Dido, Outkast, Lionel Ritchie, Stereophonics, Sophie Ellis Bexter, Suede, Gomez, Elbow, Robbie Williams, The Rapture, Hanoi Rocks, Kelis, Kosheen, Chicane, The Scissors Sisters and Joss Stone have played.
