Renowned for their in your face sets and electrifying performances The Standards have been dubbed the boys to call to smash up your dance floor and get the weekend started with a pounding of your ear drums and a kick to the proverbials.

For the exclusive launch of CLUB KOKO we are flying in SIMON SUBSONIC, the resident KOKO UK DJ who is currently supporting Placebo on their UK tour. Simon has played alongside the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Gossip, Babyshambles and MGMT and regularly destroys crowds of 10,000 strong festivals in the UK.

What would your Friday night be without your usual dose of TWILIGHT ACTION GIRL pandemonium? Your local indie DJ’s will be playing their trademark brand of action to guarantee that all you sexy little swine’s have your dancing shoes well and truly tied.

We also have KL indie rockers DESERTERS playing brand new tracks from their second LP ‘Goodbye Oblivion’ in another exclusive for KOKO Asia as they demonstrate the blood, sweat and tears lost in the recording studio to bring you another record so good it should be illegal.

Piecing the whole night together is KOKO Asia’s very own JOHNNY MAYO who will plying his usual trade of guitar dominated indie canticles and slamming electro beats to get the party started.

KOKO London has been instrumental in the UK Indie/Electro scene, showcasing up and coming music talent as well as some of the biggest names in the business such as Madonna, Coldplay and Prince. KOKO combines DJ driven club like experiences with live performances by cutting edge artists. All artists perform in the splendor that is our flagship Venue; KOKO Camden, to a 1,500 strong audience adorned with decor so fitting for the scene that London Live is filmed there on a weekly basis. A completely unique club layout caters for all needs and offers an intimate performance like no other club can.

Club KOKO is everything that is cutting edge and new in the alternative/indie genre right from the very source of the scene. Having been able to produce live acts like The Strokes, MGMT and Gossip to the masses every week there is one word that is becoming synonymous with the quality indie experience; KOKO. KOKO Asia ‘our mission’

KOKO Asia is the Asia Pacific arm of KOKO UK, based in Camden Town, London. Our goal is to make an impact on the Asia Pacific music scene inspired by the role KOKO London has played in the UK. We aim to embrace and encourage local talent, providing opportunities both for live performances and online exposure. KOKO London has been instrumental in the UK Indie/Electro scene, showcasing up and coming music talent as well as some of the biggest names in the business such as Madonna, Coldplay and Prince. KOKO combines DJ driven club like experiences with live performances by cutting edge artists. Through a series of tour events across Asia Pacific we will provide both physical and online music platforms for our partners and artists. This effort starts on the 5th June in Barsonic, Zouk KL, in collaboration with Twilight Action Girl. This Friday night residency in Barsonic has flown the Indie flag in Malaysia for a number of years. We are fans and supporters and are pleased to be able to launch our blend of fun in this intimate venue.
